Inscriptions
At Albany Monumental Masons, we offer a range of inscriptions, laser etching and lettering finishes so you can work with one of our caring and respectful consultants to create the perfect message to honour your loved one.
When the artwork, accessories and wording for an inscription has been finalised, we print a layout to show you exactly how the inscription will look on the memorial. When you are happy with the layout design your signature confirms final approval and we will proceed with your memorial. This ensures you know exactly how your inscription will look and you will have peace of mind.
Inscription Lettering
We sandblast the inscription into the headstone using one of the following methods of application:
Granite
- Gloss enamel paint in a choice of black, gold or white
- 23 carat gold leaf
- Metal spray aluminium
Marble
- Black inscription fill. We no longer use any lead products in our lettering due to health and safety regulations
Artwork
Artwork
We have a large collection of artworks that can be sandblasted onto memorials, to help reflect the interests and hobbies of your loved one. This includes:

- Hobbies and many more to create a fully personalised memorial.
Laser Etching
Laser etching creates a very life-like and long-lasting inscription, scene or photograph on Black Granite. This service is only available for Black Granite as the material allows the laser etching to be seen at its best.
